They are made entirely out of a typical cd case and cd. Some modifications are made to the case to allow it to stand up at a comfortable eye level and hold a clock mechanism.

The cds are special "printable" cds which allow printing from the outside edge to the inside edge of the center hole. This allows a full "canvas" to print and display your most cherished photo, a company logo, a favorite wilderness scene or even a nostalgic "old time photo". The photo cds are made with a nonglare matte finish.
